Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake VanVactor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fast Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). VanVactor comes to the cage accompanied by Like a Pimp by David Banner. Punch has chosen Prodigy - Hot Ride as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake VanVactor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fast Punch! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VanVactor gets cracked there but stands up to it.
VanVactor waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Punch. Punch swings for the body but VanVactor moves out of range.
VanVactor jabbing away but nothing is landing. VanVactor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Punch. Punch throws a jab but it's blocked by VanVactor. Nice defenses there by VanVactor. VanVactor throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jake VanVactor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. VanVactor throws a big shot that misses. VanVactor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Punch avoids it really well and circles away. VanVactor misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Punch changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. VanVactor misses with a looping left. VanVactor takes a swing at Punch's ribcage but misses. Punch on the wrong end of a nice hook. VanVactor slips under a jab. VanVactor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than VanVactor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Punch is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Punch tries to lock up and control but VanVactor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. VanVactor throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
VanVactor prevents Punch from getting the reversal. Punch controls the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! VanVactor jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Punch manages to avoid the submission attempt. VanVactor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Punch has escaped the position, nice work there. VanVactor creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Punch sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. VanVactor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. VanVactor works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Punch is looking to reverse the position. Punch defending against the ground and pound. VanVactor content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. VanVactor working away. VanVactor scores with a couple of short elbows. VanVactor wants to control but Punch is keeping him busy. VanVactor has knee on belly momentarily but Punch bucks him off and regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Punch blocking the ground and pound attempt from VanVactor. Punch is pressing down on VanVactor's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Punch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. VanVactor manages to get himself to full guard.
VanVactor is looking for a triangle but Punch pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. VanVactor is looking for a triangle but Punch pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jake VanVactor will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
VanVactor throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Punch sees it coming and avoids it easily. VanVactor takes a swing at Punch's ribcage but misses. Punch throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Punch swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Nice defenses there by Punch. Punch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. VanVactor sprawls well initially but Punch persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Punch tries to pass the half guard into mount. VanVactor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Punch performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Punch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. VanVactor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Punch is taking a breather. VanVactor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Fast Punch hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Punch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but VanVactor circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Punch. VanVactor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Punch.
Punch uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from VanVactor. VanVactor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Punch was well out of range. Poor timing from VanVactor. VanVactor misses the shot to the body. Punch misses with a hook. VanVactor ducked under it nicely. Punch avoids a lazy jab quite easily. VanVactor lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Punch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. VanVactor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. VanVactor manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punch is figuring out what he wants to do next. VanVactor is staying active underneath Punch, who seems content to just control the action from this position. VanVactor is trying to get back to full guard. Punch controlling the action here.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Fast Punch. VanVactor connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Punch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. VanVactor working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Punch has passed into half guard!
VanVactor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. VanVactor pushes Punch off looking to stand but Punch dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fast Punch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Punch fails with the takedown. Punch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
VanVactor throws out a token jab with nothing on it. VanVactor connects with a single shot there. Punch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Punch steps to the side to avoid the strikes from VanVactor. Punch throws an off balance right hand
and VanVactor counters with a left to the body. VanVactor misses with an uppercut
and Punch counters with a nice body shot. Punch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches VanVactor napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Punch controls the position from side control. VanVactor is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Punch off and has taken his back! Punch is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get VanVactor off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. VanVactor is looking for a rear naked choke here but Punch reverses the position brilliantly into VanVactor's guard!

That's three minutes gone in the round. VanVactor can't keep his opponent in guard - Punch advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Punch decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. VanVactor looks to score with a jab to the body but Punch is just out of range. Punch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Punch is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. VanVactor is in trouble now - Punch has advanced to mount! Punch looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Fast Punch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Punch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
