Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leo Totsky!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gegard Zaromskis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaromskis misses with a leg kick.
Totsky shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zaromskis pinned against the cage. Zaromskis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Totsky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zaromskis counters with a nice uppercut.
Zaromskis plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Totsky throws a right and a left that Zaromskis avoids nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Zaromskis as Totsky shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Totsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Totsky displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zaromskis throws out the jab.
Zaromskis misses with a right hand

so Totsky counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Totsky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zaromskis is keeping the position for now.

Zaromskis is looking for a triangle but Totsky pushes his legs off easily.

Zaromskis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Totsky defends it easily.
Totsky throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Totsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Zaromskis is looking for a triangle but Totsky pushes his legs off easily.
Totsky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Totsky slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Totsky is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zaromskis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Totsky tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Totsky has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Zaromskis is trying to get back to half guard.

Totsky tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Totsky lands a few punches from side control.

Totsky cracks Zaromskis with a big elbow.
Zaromskis manages to work his way to half guard, despite Totsky's best efforts.
Totsky thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zaromskis's head.
Totsky not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Zaromskis tries to roll over but Totsky keeps him under control.

Zaromskis actively working from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Totsky stops Zaromskis from getting back to his feet.
Totsky has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Zaromskis is in a horrible position here. Totsky smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Totsky wants to control the pace but Zaromskis is squirming around nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Totsky lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Zaromskis is desperately trying to improve his position but Totsky has a good base and remains in mount.

Totsky is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Zaromskis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Zaromskis is rocked!
Totsky postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Zaromskis bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Totsky and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leo Totsky!
