Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Looka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Diego De Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Santiago lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
De Santiago closes the distance and lands a one-two.

De Santiago scores a takedown into full mount!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
De Santiago looking to control but Looka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
De Santiago controlling from mount.
De Santiago fails to take his opponent's back.
Looka can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Santiago sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Looka tries to hold on but De Santiago pushes him away.
Looka is squirming around, avoiding De Santiago's attempts to control the action.
Looka is desperately trying to improve his position but De Santiago has a good base and remains in mount.
Looka is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Looka can't escape the position.
Looka holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as De Santiago tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
De Santiago trying to control but Looka is having none of it.
De Santiago cracks Looka with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

De Santiago is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Looka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Looka shrugs it off.
De Santiago tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
It looks like De Santiago might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Looka is looking to get to half guard.
Looka is working hard here to advance position.
De Santiago controlling the pace for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Looka tries to hold on but De Santiago postures up.
De Santiago content just to control the position here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ricardo Diego De Santiago.

and De Santiago decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Looka's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Santiago slips nicely into half guard.
De Santiago frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Looka tries to hold on but De Santiago pushes him away.
Looka is trying desperately to improve position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De Santiago can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Looka is looking to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
De Santiago looking to control but Looka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricardo Diego De Santiago dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


De Santiago takes one to the chin there.
De Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Looka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Looka dodges the punch combination from De Santiago.
De Santiago steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Looka.
De Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch but Looka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
De Santiago tries to close the distance and clinch up but Looka swats him away and circles back towards the center.

De Santiago has closed the distance and engaged Looka in a clinch.

Looka drags the fight down to the ground.
De Santiago wants to control from the top but Looka keeps moving.
De Santiago controls from within his opponent's guard.
De Santiago postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Looka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Santiago doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Looka is tightening it up a little... De Santiago has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! De Santiago reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! De Santiago taps out! Nice BJJ there by Looka!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). John Looka!
