Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryuhaku Todoh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Barett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Barett will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryuhaku Todoh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Barett! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Todoh misses with a series of wild punches.
Todoh gets in close and instigates a clinch. Barett tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Todoh lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Roger Barett has been cut. Barett prevents a body shot from Todoh. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Todoh trying to land knees to the body.
Todoh lands with a left to the head. Barett being controlled against the cage. Barett is fighting off a takedown attempt but Todoh is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Barett to the mat. Barett regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Todoh engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Barett is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Todoh controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Todoh looking to pass the guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryuhaku Todoh just wasn't active enough. Barett will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Barett scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Excellent takedown into side control there by Todoh. Barett on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Todoh controlling the position. Barett is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Todoh politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Todoh prefers to stall for the moment though. Barett is pushing Todoh's head away, looking to escape. Todoh manages to hold on to the position though. Barett is trying to control Todoh's posture but Todoh avoids it. Todoh controls the position from side control. Barett tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Barett's face as Todoh controls the position. Barett tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Todoh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Todoh bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Barett gets back to half guard. Todoh perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Todoh's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Todoh is trying to work for a kimura but Barett is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Todoh takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Todoh stops Barett from getting back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryuhaku Todoh just wasn't active enough. Barett throws a right and a left that both miss. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barett swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Todoh. Barett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Todoh circles away quickly and effectively. Barett looks gassed! Todoh throws a sloppy head kick and Barett moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Todoh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Todoh's corner is telling him to maintain position. Todoh is pushing down on Barett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barett is fighting to maintain full guard but Todoh has managed to sneak the leg through. Barett trying to control here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryuhaku Todoh. Barett misses with a wild combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Todoh dives in and scores a takedown into Barett's guard. Barett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Todoh is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Todoh has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Barett swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Todoh. Roger Barett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Todoh attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barett looks to land a combination but Todoh avoids it well. Todoh throws a right and a left that both miss.

Barett lands a right hook to the body.
Barett is breathing heavily. Barett throws a nice looking combination but Todoh bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A combination from Barett does no damage. Barett fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Todoh manages to avoid it. Todoh forces Barett back against the cage and clinches. Barett jumps guard but Todoh stands there with Barett around his waist. Barett gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Todoh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Todoh drives through and clinches with Barett against the cage.
Todoh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Todoh manages to end up in side control. Barett is trying to buck Todoh off. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Barett trying to remain calm as Todoh controls from the top position. Barett is looking for a sweep. Todoh controls the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barett wants to control but Todoh postures up. Barett is looking for a sweep. Todoh happy to just control the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barett wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Todoh lands an elbow that stopped Barett in his tracks for a moment. Todoh gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Barett blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Todoh is struggling to control the position. Barett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Todoh smiles and moves away.
Barett goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Todoh throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Todoh.
Barett gets tackled into the cage by Todoh. Todoh maintains the clinch. Barett avoids a wild elbow strike from Todoh. Todoh stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Todoh tries a knee to the head but Barett blocks it.
Todoh tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Todoh lands an elbow just above Barett 's eye. A short left from Todoh. Todoh gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Barett has had enough of the clinch but Todoh keeps him there for the moment. Todoh lands an elbow just above Barett 's eye. Roger Barett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Todoh pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Todoh trying to land knees to the body.
Todoh lands with a light punch inside. Todoh has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Barett is trying to keep an underhook but Todoh manages to get the takedown into half guard. Todoh controlling the pace. This has been an exciting period of action! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

A telegraphed right hand from Barett misses the target. Todoh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Barett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Todoh prevents Barett from standing back up.
Barett actively working from the bottom here. Ryuhaku Todoh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Todoh perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Barett is looking for a sweep. Todoh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Todoh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Todoh is taking a breather. Barett says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barett is trying to stand up here but Todoh is controlling him well. Todoh takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
