PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Manaloto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Manaloto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jose Jose!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manaloto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Manaloto shoots for a double leg takedown but Jose sprawls well. He's pushed Manaloto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Manaloto fails with a takedown attempt.
Manaloto has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Manaloto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jose changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Manaloto tries to avoid it but Jose manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Manaloto to the ground. Manaloto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jose blocks a jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Manaloto.

Manaloto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Manaloto throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Manaloto could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jose is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jose manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jose manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Manaloto being controlled here momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manaloto trying to control but Jose is working from the bottom.
Manaloto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jose on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jose is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jose stands and throws Manaloto's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Manaloto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Manaloto can't do much from the bottom here.
Jose controls the position from side control.
Manaloto throws a few strikes from the bottom but Jose takes advantage and mounts!
Manaloto is trying to escape the mount.
Jose wants to control the pace but Manaloto is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jose is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Manaloto has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jose cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jose scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Manaloto working to try and regain half guard.
Jose cracks Manaloto with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
BOOM! Jose connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Manaloto tries to hold on but Jose pushes him away.

Jose with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jose controlling his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Manaloto tries to control the position but Jose now has his back.
Manaloto tries to break free.
Jose really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Manaloto.

Jose is cranking Manaloto's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Manaloto! He's tightened the choke and Manaloto is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jose Jose!
