Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Newton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Roward!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton lands a head kick. Roward smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Newton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roward's waist but Roward gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Newton off to one side.
Newton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Roward throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No joy there for Roward, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Newton shoots in for a takedown but Roward shows good takedown defense.
Roward lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Newton goes down and covers up as Roward starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Roward!
