The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla stuffs the takedown attempt from McCarthy. McCarthy gets slowly back to his feet.
McCarthy is looking to clinch but Materla is avoiding it.

McCarthy darts in and clinches Materla up against the cage.
Materla tries a body shot but McCarthy blocks it.
Materla jumps guard but McCarthy stands there with Materla around his waist. Materla gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McCarthy tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
McCarthy takes a knee to the side of the body.

McCarthy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Materla is fending him off so far but McCarthy persists. Nope, Materla circles away and we're back to standing.
McCarthy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCarthy wants it to stay on the feet.
