Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Conley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago moves out of range of the leg kick from Conley.
Santiago has a takedown stuffed.
Santiago throws a head kick but Conley moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Santiago enables Conley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Santiago manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Santiago looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santiago keeping full guard, as Conley tries to pass.
Conley trying to control but Santiago is working from the bottom.
Conley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Santiago not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Conley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Conley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Santiago paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Santiago wants to clinch.

Santiago closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Conley to the mat! Conley manages to get full guard.
Santiago stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Conley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santiago trying to control the position from guard on top but Conley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Conley being controlled here, momentarily.
Santiago slips nicely into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Conley keeping hold of Santiago's head, controlling as best he can.

Conley pushes Santiago off looking to stand but Santiago dives back in and keeps control.

Santiago is working for a submission of some sort.
Conley avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Santiago.

Conley trying to control from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Santiago seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Conley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Santiago uses his free foot to push down on Conley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Conley.
Santiago cracks Conley with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Conley is breathing heavily.
Santiago controlling the pace for now.
Conley looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Santiago is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Conley is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Conley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santiago on the ground.

Santiago has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Conley is in real trouble here. Santiago gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Conley is tapping out! Santiago wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Santiago!
