Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unigu Rege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Unigu Rege!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rege misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rege enables Perry to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rege manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rege has his hands on Perry's head, controlling the position.
Perry works over Rege with some ground and pound from guard.
Rege manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Perry manages to get himself to full guard.

Perry has an active guard here but Rege has managed to pass into half guard.

Perry kicks off Rege and gets to his feet.
Perry has his takedown stuffed

and Rege counters with a single leg into guard. Perry didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rege controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rege stands and steps away. Perry gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Perry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Perry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rege regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Perry.
Perry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Rege has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rege seems keen to control Perry's posture.
Rege keeping full guard, as Perry tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rege avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Perry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Perry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rege works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Perry with a nice head shot there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rege can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rege manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Perry wants to try and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rege trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rege landing strikes, looking to finish!
Rege trying to control but Perry is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Rege content just to control the position here.
Perry throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Perry is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Perry is trying to reverse the position but instead Rege has taken his back - oops!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rege connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Perry to escape the position.
Perry holding both Rege 's hands and preventing any damage.

Rege is looking for the choke from the back position but Perry is controlling his hands well.
Perry looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Perry staying busy and making it hard for Rege to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
I really don't envy Perry right now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rege has got one arm under Perry's chin. This could be trouble... Perry trying to control the other hand but Rege gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Perry has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Unigu Rege!
