PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Schribber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schribber has chosen Surfacing - Slipknot as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schribber has Lee up against the cage in a clinch.
Lee creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Lee fails to pull guard.
Schribber is trying to break the clinch but Lee is controlling him.
The referee is keeping an eye on Schribber - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lee is fighting off a takedown attempt but Schribber is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lee to the mat. Lee regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Schribber gets tackled into the cage by Lee. Lee maintains the clinch.

Lee gets underhooks to prevent Schribber's takedown attempt.

Schribber tries to work over Lee's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Lee has Schribber pressed against the cage, preventing Schribber from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Schribber gets control of Lee's arms and successfully pulls guard. Schribber will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Schribber is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bob Schribber hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Schribber tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.
Schribber lands with a left to the head.

James Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Schribber.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Schribber takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Bob Schribber showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lee comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Schribber's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Schribber lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lee backs up against the cage.
Lee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Schribber takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Schribber.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schribber throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bob Schribber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Schribber has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
