Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alex Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malapitan has chosen My Time is Now as his entrance music. Alex Voss has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Voss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmonray Malapitan!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malapitan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Malapitan misses with a few strikes there.
Malapitan looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Horrible takedown by Voss or perhaps it was just good defense by Malapitan which made him look bad.
Malapitan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Malapitan scores with a jab to the head.

Voss gets a double leg takedown into Malapitan's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Voss passes Malapitan's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Malapitan is defending against the submission attempts here by Voss.

Voss is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Voss is keen to just control but Malapitan is a slippery customer.

Voss seems to be working for a kimura but Malapitan defends the submission attempt.
Voss missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Malapitan is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voss trying to advance position but Malapitan counters by regaining guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Voss drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Malapitan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Voss has Malapitan in his guard.

Malapitan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Voss wants to stand up but Malapitan is controlling him.
Malapitan throwing strikes from guard but Voss blocks nicely.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Voss is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Malapitan defends well.
Malapitan wants to control from the top but Voss keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Malapitan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Voss looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Voss looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Voss!

Malapitan is trying to improve his position.

Voss is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Malapitan is trying to escape and Voss transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Malapitan is forced to tap! Nice work there by Voss! Very nice indeed!
