Stokes turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stokes manages to end up in side control.
Nutmeg pushes Stokes away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stokes gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Stokes works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Nutmeg manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Greg Stokes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stokes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nutmeg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stokes defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nutmeg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stokes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
