PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bill Zebub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chicharito Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zebub comes to the cage accompanied by Jester. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velasquez feints and as Zebub raises his hands in defense, Velasquez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Velasquez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zebub's guard.

Velasquez is looking for a kimura here.

Zebub is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Velasquez pulls his head out easily.
Zebub is looking for a sweep. Velasquez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Velasquez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Zebub gets back to full guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Velasquez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Zebub striking off his back but it's not causing Velasquez any problems.
Zebub bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Velasquez's guard.

Zebub drops back looking for a leg! Velasquez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Velasquez manages to kick Zebub off! Zebub jumps back into Velasquez's guard.
Zebub passes Velasquez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Zebub blocks the strikes from Velasquez.

Zebub is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Velasquez wants to control but Zebub is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Velasquez is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zebub connects with a nice short shot to Velasquez's temple.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Zebub lands a nice short elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Velasquez is looking for a sweep. Zebub is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Zebub looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Velasquez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Zebub is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Velasquez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zebub.
