Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vice Grip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zero's entrance music is José the Bronx Rican - Spittin' Narcicism. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Zero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vice Grip!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero shoots in but Grip avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Zero shoots in looking for a takedown. Grip tries to sprawl out of it but Zero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grip manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zero moves out of range of the body kick from Grip.
Zero avoids the head kick by Grip.
Zero thows a left - swing and a miss!
Zero shoots in for a double leg but Grip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Grip defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zero.
Grip feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Zero's calf.
Zero fails with an attempt to clinch.

Zero is trying to control Grip's posture but Grip avoids it.

Zero is not content to let Grip control the position.

Grip tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Zero tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grip wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Grip just content to control the position.
Grip wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zero keeps working.

Grip is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zero has escaped the position, nice work there.

Grip is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Grip wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zero keeps working.

Grip wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zero, who protects the arm well.

Zero is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The fighters circling - Zero throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Zero tries to clinch there but Grip circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Grip darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Zero drives through with a takedown into Grip's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Grip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Grip is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Zero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Grip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zero has managed to get both his arms back between Grip's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zero is pushing down on Grip's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grip is fighting to maintain full guard but Zero has managed to sneak the leg through.

Zero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grip does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Zero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grip isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zero stacks Grip on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zero!

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Zero will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Grip is looking to score with low kicks.
Zero tries to close the distance and clinch but Grip swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Grip stuffs the takedown attempt from Zero. Zero gets slowly back to his feet.
Grip throws a head kick but Zero moves out of range.
Vice Grip seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Grip wants to slow Zero down by chopping away at his legs.
Zero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Zero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grip looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Grip is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zero pulls his head out easily.
Grip takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Zero looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Zero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Grip's head.
Grip trying to control from the bottom.
Zero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vice Grip comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Grip has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
