Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kilfaro Bacon!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Velasquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bacon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bacon jabs Velasquez right on the nose. Velasquez blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut.
Bacon drops Velasquez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Velasquez looks back up at him and smiles so Bacon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Velasquez is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bacon moves into range and clinches up with Velasquez.
Bacon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bacon drops Velasquez onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Velasquez is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Oh Velasquez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cain Velasquez's cut is getting worse.
Velasquez keeps control of Bacon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Velasquez fails to pull guard.
Velasquez seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Velasquez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bacon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bacon lands a body shot.
Velasquez is breathing heavily.
Velasquez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bacon is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Velasquez hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kilfaro Bacon!
