Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Wahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lang comes to the cage accompanied by Shipoopi. James Lang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Lang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Wahl! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wahl avoids the body shot from Lang.
Lang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lang sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Wahl blocking the ground and pound. Wahl is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lang breaks from Wahl's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wahl is squirming around, avoiding Lang's attempts to control the action. Lang unloading with bombs! Wahl tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lang tries to control but Wahl wriggling away. Wahl is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lang breaks from Wahl's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wahl is looking to improve his position but Lang isn't that keen on the idea. Lang postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wahl looks a forlorn figure.
Wahl bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Lang wants to stand but Wahl is controlling the position. Lang pulls Wahl in close to his closed guard and prevents Wahl from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lang looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wahl puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lang wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lang is refusing to be controlled, as Wahl sits in half guard. Wahl is looking for a kimura but Lang is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wahl to get the leverage. Lang tries to roll over but Wahl keeps him under control. Wahl wants to work for an arm triangle but Lang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wahl looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wahl wants to control but Lang is keeping him busy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lang. Lang sizes up Wahl with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Lang ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lang throws a looping overhand right but Wahl ducks down to avoid it. Wahl throws a right and a left that both miss. Lang tries to close the distance and clinch but Wahl swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lang closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Lang lands some shots froms side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wahl manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Wahl gets full guard. Lang avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Lang wants to stand and escape but instead Wahl has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Lang dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Wahl misses with a takedown and Lang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wahl won't be happy with that. Lang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wahl on the ground. Wahl manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Lang wants to get back to full guard. Wahl is looking for a kimura here.
Wahl seems to be working for a kimura but Lang defends the submission attempt. Lang is looking to escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wahl wants to work for an arm triangle but Lang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lang scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Wahl manages to mount him!
Wahl looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Lang is looking to improve his position but Wahl isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wahl lands with some strikes. Wahl scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lang tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wahl with shots to the head and body - Lang looks very uncomfortable down there. Wahl working for a submission but Lang is keeping him at bay. Lang wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Wahl has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wahl is persistently looking for the submission but Lang is defending it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wahl is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Lang is trying to stand back up. Lang tries to escape but Wahl has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Wahl patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lang controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Wahl lands an elbow to the side of the head. Wahl looking for the choke but no joy. Lang showing good submission defense here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wahl avoiding Lang 's attempts to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Wahl showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Lang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lang fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wahl shoots in and drives through. Lang sprawls well. Wahl shoots and misses so Lang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Lang wants to control from the top but Wahl keeps moving. Wahl looking for a guillotine here but Lang defends easily.
Lang wants to get up but he can't break Wahl's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Wahl takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lang with a nice head shot there. Lang wants to control from the top but Wahl keeps moving. Mark Wahl has got the better of the ground game so far. Lang pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wahl is keeping the position for now. Wahl wants to sweep here but Lang controlling him for the moment. Lang wanted to stand there but Wahl had control of the position. Wahl keeping moving, preventing Lang from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wahl has his foot on Lang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lang works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lang throwing strikes from guard but Wahl blocks nicely. Wahl working for a triangle but Lang defends it easily.
Lang trying to stand up but can't free himself from Wahl's guard. Wahl looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lang postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wahl is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lang, into his guard. Wahl tries to free his leg and advance position but Lang is retaining full guard. Lang wants to stand up but Wahl is controlling him. Lang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Wahl postures up in Lang's guard and throws a big left but Lang blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wahl is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wahl passes Lang's left leg - he's now in half guard. Wahl is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lang is just riding it out for now. Wahl eventually gives up the hold. Wahl works his way into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mark Wahl. I think Wahl has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
