The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Playa has his takedown stuffed

and Murphy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Murphy is looking for a kimura here.
Murphy prevents Playa from standing back up.
Playa tries to get to full guard but Murphy has control of the leg.
Murphy thows a huge punch but Playa dodges it nicely.
Playa controlling the position for now.
Murphy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murphy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Playa has escaped the position, nice work there.

Murphy has an Americana. Playa didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Murphy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Murphy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
