Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaka darts in trying to clinch

and Saito counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kaka!
Saito looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kaka is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Kaka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kaka is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaka wants to control but Saito is having none of it.

and Saito counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kaka won't be happy with that.
Kaka wants to control but Saito postures up.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Saito has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Katsu Saito.
Saito misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

so Saito counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Saito sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kaka's guard.
Well, if Saito is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Saito seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kaka for as long as he can get away with.

and Saito counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kaka won't be happy with that.
Kaka is breathing heavily.
Saito remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Saito's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kaka shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Saito counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Saito controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Katsu Saito overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Saito tries to free his leg and advance position but Kaka is retaining full guard.

Kaka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saito can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Saito seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Saito has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Saito throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaka was covering up waiting for the punch and Saito finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kaka throws a lazy head kick
and Saito counters with a one-two to the body.

Saito scores with a takedown into Kaka's guard.
Saito slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Katsu Saito showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saito, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
