The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira shoots in but StPierre avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oliveira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
StPierre is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
StPierre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oliveira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oliveira is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
StPierre prevents Oliveira from getting back to his feet.
StPierre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts StPierre as he jumps to the side.

and StPierre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Oliveira's guard now.

StPierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Oliveira is retaining full guard.

StPierre is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Oliveira.
Oliveira throws a right hand that StPierre ducks under and follows up with a left that StPierre also avoids with ease.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

StPierre decides to take the fight back to the feet.

StPierre seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if StPierre can do anything to dispel that myth.

Oliveira working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. StPierre is doing well to defend. Oliveira seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! StPierre is forced to tap and this one is over!
