Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmilson Murutu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roly Shop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murutu comes to the cage accompanied by Flor do Campo. Shop has chosen 6 foot 7 foot as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shop tries to close the distance and clinch but Murutu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Murutu misses with a straight right.
Murutu misses with a hook.
Shop throws a solid leg kick but Murutu takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Shop.
Shop walks into a jab.
A head kick misses from Shop.
Shop will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Murutu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Murutu throws a lazy right hand but Shop sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Shop manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murutu on his heels. He'll look to pass Murutu's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Shop gets to his feet. Murutu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A slow jab from Murutu misses its intended target.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Shop.
Shop moves in looking to clinch but Murutu pushes him off.
Nice cross by Murutu.
Murutu takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Shop clinches.

Murutu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Roly Shop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Murutu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shop to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Shop wants to pass the guard but Murutu is keeping the position.

Shop thows a big elbow that misses.
Shop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shop stops Murutu from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Roly Shop was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Murutu misses with a few strikes there.
Edmilson Murutu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shop ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Murutu lands a glancing blow to the side of Shop's head.

Shop shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Murutu but Murutu pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Edmilson Murutu will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Murutu throws a looping overhand right but Shop ducks down to avoid it.
Murutu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shop back to the cage. Murutu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Shop takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Murutu scores with a sloppy right hand. Shop should have avoided that one.
Murutu fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murutu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Murutu lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Murutu throws a hook to the side of Shop's head but Shop sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shop uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murutu.
Murutu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Shop breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shop throws a sloppy head kick and Murutu moves out of range easily.
Shop walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Murutu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shop moves out of range of the strikes.

Murutu misses with an uppercut. Shop saw that one coming.
Murutu with a jab.
Murutu blocks the body kick.

Shop drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shop controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Shop forces his way into half guard.

Shop takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Roly Shop has got the better of the ground game so far.
Murutu tries to kick Shop off but Shop keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Murutu wants to stand back up but Shop manages to pass into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Murutu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shop throws a strike aimed at the side of Murutu's head but Murutu avoids it well.

Murutu tries to escape but Shop is in control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shop stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Shop throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Murutu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shop.

Shop looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Murutu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shop on the ground.
Murutu wants to stand and escape but Shop is having none of it.

Shop sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Roly Shop wasn't active enough on the ground.

Shop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Shop tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Murutu is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Shop has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Murutu is trying to break the clinch but Shop is controlling him.
Shop is trying to drag Murutu to the mat but Murutu just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
