The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kern tries to bench press Rojas off him but Rojas keeps the position.
Rojas swings around for an armbar but Kern sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rojas's guard.
Kern is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rojas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kern wants to control from the top but Rojas keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kern is sitting in close to Rojas's body. Rojas has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kern is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kern is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rojas.
