PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmanuel Bredenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pedrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bredenberg comes into the arena with Heja Bamse blaring out of the sound system. Pedrera is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kill your God. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pedrera tries to sprawl but Bredenberg drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bredenberg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bredenberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pedrera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bredenberg throws a strike aimed at the side of Pedrera's head but Pedrera avoids it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bredenberg remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bredenberg uses his free foot to push down on Pedrera's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pedrera.
Bredenberg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pedrera is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Bredenberg gets a double leg takedown into Pedrera's guard.

Bredenberg has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pedrera to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bredenberg is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pedrera pulls down on the head and he's put Bredenberg to sleep! This one is all over!
