Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Austin Marks! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Marks. Marks gets slowly back to his feet. Smith throws out a loose jab but Marks uses good head movement to avoid it. Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marks avoids it really well and circles away. Marks shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Marks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away. Marks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith is looking to clinch. Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard. Marks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to control from the top but Marks keeps moving. Smith stands and steps away. Marks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Smith gets tackled into the cage by Marks. Marks maintains the clinch. Marks prevents a takedown attempt there.
Smith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith gets underhooks to prevent Marks's takedown attempt.
Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Marks just stands there and leans against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith breaks the clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Marks. Marks controls the position from side control. Marks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith struggling a bit here. Smith manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Marks eventually gives up the hold. Marks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Marks wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smith gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to control the position but Marks postures up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Marks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Marks looks gassed! Smith pushes Marks off and gets back to his feet. Marks stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Horrible takedown by Marks or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. Nice sprawl there from Smith as Marks shoots in. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Smith will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Smith looks for a takedown but Marks sprawls well. Marks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes. Marks stuffs the takedown. Marks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Marks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nice takedown defense from Marks. No joy for Smith on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marks rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Marks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Marks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Smith blocks a head kick by Marks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well. Marks is breathing heavily. Marks clinches up against the cage. Smith tightens his grip and picks Marks up, before dumping him to the ground. Marks manages to land in guard. Smith wants to control from the top but Marks keeps moving. Marks is trying to keep Smith in close.
Marks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there. Marks keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mark Smith has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Marks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marks gets slowly back to his feet. Marks tries to score with a low kick but Smith moves his leg out of the way. Marks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marks is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Marks circles away and we're back to standing. Smith wants to clinch. Marks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Marks circles away.
Marks shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily. Smith looking to score a takedown here. Marks is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Marks's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marks keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Marks is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Marks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Austin Marks was stalling too much, according to the referee. Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marks defends it nicely. Marks dips down and scores with a jab to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marks. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Marks struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks is trying to get back to half guard. Marks is not content to let Smith control the position. Marks tries to escape but Smith is in control. Marks struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Marks get back to his feet. Smith clinches up against the cage. Marks stops a takedown attempt from Smith.
Smith wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marks lands a right hand. Marks goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Smith passes into half guard. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Marks defending well though. Smith works his foot free and advances to mount. Marks working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Smith looking to control and managing it successfully. Smith trying to control but he's not successful this time. Smith raining down shots from the mount! Austin Marks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mark Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Marks tries to hold on but Smith postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Smith showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
