Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikheil Bakradze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bariga Cocainich! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cocainich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bakradze.
Horrible takedown by Cocainich or perhaps it was just good defense by Bakradze which made him look bad. Cocainich decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cocainich is working for a kimura but Bakradze is defending it quite comfortably.
Bakradze is looking for a sweep. Cocainich is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cocainich not landing any meaningful shots this time. Cocainich is trying a forearm choke

Bakradze is refusing to be controlled, as Cocainich sits in half guard. Bakradze controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Bakradze wants to get back to full guard. Cocainich looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Cocainich trying to mount his opponent but Bakradze defends it. Bakradze slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cocainich tries to free his leg and advance position but Bakradze is retaining full guard. Bakradze on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bakradze tries to get out of the position. Bakradze pulls Cocainich in close to his closed guard and prevents Cocainich from doing any damage or advancing position. Bakradze keeping full guard, as Cocainich tries to pass. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bakradze holds on and takes a little breather.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cocainich throwing strikes from guard but Bakradze blocks nicely. Cocainich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bakradze swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bakradze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bakradze is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mikheil Bakradze has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Cocainich shoots in for a takedown but Bakradze shows good takedown defense. Cocainich misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mikheil Bakradze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bariga Cocainich. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cocainich chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bakradze can pounce on him.

Bakradze is looking to chop away at Cocainich's legs. Cocainich looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Cocainich postures up and lands a big shot to Bakradze's brow. Bakradze not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Cocainich jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bakradze is adopting a defensive guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bakradze has momentary wrist control but Cocainich slips an elbow through the middle. Cocainich trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cocainich missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bakradze is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cocainich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bakradze swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bakradze keeping moving, preventing Cocainich from controlling successfully. Bakradze can't keep his opponent in guard - Cocainich advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cocainich is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bakradze doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cocainich. Cocainich is trying to work for a kimura but Bakradze is defending well.
Bakradze has his hands clasped together around Cocainich's back. He's all about the action. Bakradze blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cocainich.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cocainich is looking for a kimura but Bakradze is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cocainich to get the leverage. Cocainich frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Cocainich thowing shots but they're missing. Bakradze is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Cocainich has isolated one of Bakradze's arms. Bakradze looking to fight him off but Cocainich twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
