Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason McGully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elvin Ruez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Face Breaker - Poison Pen kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason McGully! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elvin Ruez! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGully misses with a wild combination.
McGully keeps the fight on the outside. Ruez slaps away a takedown attempt from McGully, before circling back to the center of the mat. McGully throws a big shot that misses. Ruez chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ruez has managed to clinch.
McGully can't get the takedown.
Ruez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McGully can't fight it off and eventually Ruez manages to take the fight to the floor. McGully looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ruez postures up in McGully's guard and throws a big left but McGully blocks it. Ruez stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ruez scores with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action! Ruez wants to clinch. McGully takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGully rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ruez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. McGully misses with a few strikes there.
Ruez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ruez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. McGully throws a left and a right that both miss
and McGully takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McGully throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McGully throws a head kick that misses. McGully throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ruez's waist but Ruez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGully off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason McGully. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. McGully is breathing heavily. Ruez is figuring out what he wants to do next. McGully really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ruez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ruez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ruez is looking to advance position but McGully won't allow it. McGully is looking to control Ruez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McGully avoid being mounted? Ruez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ruez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Elvin Ruez. Ruez misses with a double jab.
Ruez tries to clinch but McGully moves out of range. McGully doesn't manage to clinch there - Ruez circles away.
McGully changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ruez tries to avoid it but McGully manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ruez to the ground. Ruez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McGully fails with the takedown. Ruez swats away the attempt to clinch by McGully. McGully tries to keep at a distance but Ruez has taken the fight into the clinch. Ruez just leaning against McGully, taking a breather. Ruez tries to score a body lock takedown but McGully shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruez just leaning against McGully, taking a breather. McGully is trying to drag Ruez to the mat but Ruez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A frustrated look appears on McGully's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ruez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McGully.
Ruez unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ruez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McGully.
A short right from Ruez on the inside. Ruez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ruez manages to end up in side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ruez working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Ruez controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elvin Ruez dominated that round. That's time! McGully's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
McGully throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McGully tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ruez is able to avoid easily. McGully misses with a few strikes there.
Ruez throws a jab when McGully was well out of range. Ruez throws a right and a left that McGully avoids nicely. Jason McGully is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McGully swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McGully misses with a double jab.
McGully shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ruez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ruez. Ruez throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Ruez lands a hook to the side of the head. McGully is trying to force a seperation but Ruez has the dominant position. A nice right hand lands inside from Ruez. Ruez keeps control of McGully as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruez stops a takedown attempt from McGully.
Nice elbow from Ruez. Ruez lands on the inside with an uppercut. Ruez slowing the pace effectively. McGully dodges an elbow strike from Ruez.
Ruez lands a knee to the body.
Ruez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Ruez stalling in the clinch.
Ruez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ruez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ruez has closed the distance and engaged McGully in a clinch.
McGully pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jason McGully seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McGully throws a combination that misses and Ruez counters with a nice uppercut.
McGully is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ruez cracks McGully with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends McGully tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ruez pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! McGully is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elvin Ruez!
