Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maynard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maynard wants it to stay on the feet.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Balboa enables Maynard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Balboa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Maynard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Balboa can't keep his opponent in guard - Maynard advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Maynard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Maynard is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Maynard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Balboa is bucking up trying to escape but Maynard cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Maynard goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Balboa is on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gray Maynard wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Maynard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Balboa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maynard somewhat.
Balboa throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Maynard's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maynard as he jumps to the side.

and Maynard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Balboa won't be happy with that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gray Maynard dominated that round.

Maynard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maynard is working for a submission of some sort.
Maynard looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Balboa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Balboa pushes Maynard off looking to stand but Maynard dives back in and keeps control.

Balboa wants to get back to his feet.

Maynard working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gray Maynard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Balboa tries to roll over but Maynard keeps him under control.

Balboa tries to hold on but Maynard pushes him away.
Maynard looking to secure an arm triangle but Balboa defends it well.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Maynard fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Maynard cracks Balboa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Balboa tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Balboa is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Maynard locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Balboa is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gray Maynard!
