The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El clinches up against the cage.
El tries to throw a body punch but Hill avoids it by throwing El back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from El fails to land.
El tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hill avoids it.
El is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hill can't fight it off and eventually El manages to take the fight to the floor. Hill looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
El wants to pass the guard but Hill is keeping the position.

El bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hill's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
