Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hindu Kush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Tigulang! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Tigulang. Kush lands with a right hand. Kush throws a nice looking combination but Tigulang bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tigulang scores with a takedown into Kush's guard. Tigulang controlling from the top position. Tigulang chips away with some ground and pound. Tigulang has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kush looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tigulang gets to his feet. Kush looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Sloppy strikes from Kush. Those never looked like landing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kush looks to land a left hand but Tigulang moved out of range nicely. Kush scores with a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kush throws a hook but Tigulang blocks it. Tigulang on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nice defenses there by Tigulang. Tigulang moves out of range of the leg kick from Kush. A looping hook to the body misses from Kush. Tigulang does a little dance to reset his feet. Kush looks to score with a jab to the body but Tigulang is just out of range. Kush works Tigulang's body with a nice hook. Kush throws a series of punches but Tigulang avoids them all with ease. Tigulang moves out of range as Kush strikes. Tigulang is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kush. Kush throws a hook but Tigulang avoids it easily. Kush throws a body punch but Tigulang moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kush throws a series of punches but Tigulang moves out of range. Kush is breathing heavily. Kush wants to clinch but Tigulang slips to the side and Tigulang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kush won't be happy with that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tigulang is working Kush over with some ground and pound from side control. Kush could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Tigulang decides to stand back up. Tigulang fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kush, pushing him back against the cage. Kush struggles to land a body shot inside as Tigulang controls his hands.
Kush is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tigulang is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kush to the mat. Kush regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Tigulang stays in close to Kush's body and controls the position. Tigulang is looking to work some ground and pound but Kush has wrist control. Tigulang throwing strikes from guard but Kush blocks nicely. Tigulang trying to control but Kush is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kush had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tigulang defends it easily. Tigulang stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Kush has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Tigulang manages to get his head free but now Kush has transitioned to an armbar! Tigulang grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Kush! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hindu Kush!
