Kabrinsky comes to the cage accompanied by The Tea Party - Walking Wounded. Thiago Almer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kabrinsky momentarily.

Almer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

No joy there for Almer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kabrinsky on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Almer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


Jeez, Kato Kabrinsky's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Kabrinsky takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
That kick from Almer tenderised Kabrinsky's leg. Kabrinsky is trying to keep his angry face on.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kabrinsky. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Kabrinsky sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Almer is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kabrinsky had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Almer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kabrinsky looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kabrinsky on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Almer. Almer obviously looking to wear him down.

Almer throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kabrinsky crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Almer - the referee stops the clock and Kabrinsky gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Almer. Kabrinsky manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Almer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kabrinsky's head backwards.

The fighters circle momentarily. Almer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Donk. Almer catches Kabrinsky right on the button with a cross.
Kabrinsky fails with the takedown.
Almer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kabrinsky chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Almer can pounce on him.
