Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Jones!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Smith. Beautiful body shot.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily.
Smith scores with a shot to the body.
Smith clinches.
Jones misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Smith tries a knee to the head but Jones blocks it.
Smith breaks from the clinch.
Jones moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smith fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Smith lands a glancing blow to the side of Jones's head.
Smith scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones misses with a looping left.
Smith throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jones is rocked!
It looks like Peter Jones has been cut.
Smith clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Jones ducks right into an uppercut from Smith.
David Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
David Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Jones.
Jones looks gassed!
Smith sends Jones crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Smith is motioning to the referee to let Jones up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones tries to get into range but Smith steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Jones! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Smith scores the big KO victory!
