The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metti shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kalpa pinned against the cage. Kalpa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Some wild striking there from Kalpa.
Kalpa doesn't manage to clinch there - Metti circles away.
Kalpa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Janne Kalpa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalpa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kalpa throws a series of punches but Metti avoids them all with ease.

and Metti counters with a single leg into guard. Kalpa didn't expect that.
Metti controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Metti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kalpa is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Metti dives into side control.

Metti working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kalpa looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Metti! Submission of the night perhaps?
