PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Pump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vinny Pump!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slim Jim!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pump throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jim fails with a takedown attempt.
Jim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pump counters with a one-two to the body.
Jim tries for a takedown but Pump circles away easily
and Pump counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jim thinking.
Vinny Pump has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Jim.
Pump lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jim backs up against the ropes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A combination from Pump does no damage.
Pump displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jim.
Jim looks gassed!
Left hook, right uppercut from Pump.
Pump misses with a few strikes there.
Jim misses with a takedown attempt
and Pump counters with a three punch combo that has Jim backing up. Jim nods at Pump to acknowledge the strikes.
Sloppy strikes from Pump. Those never looked like landing.
Jim slips a jab and a cross from Pump.
Pump shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jim eats them both and turns towards Pump to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jim takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pump misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pump fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jim is defended easily by Pump.
Jim is trying desperately to land a takedown but Pump is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Jim.
Pump tries to bum rush Jim with a series of wild strikes but Jim uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Pump. Those never looked like landing.
Pump looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pump misses with a series of wild punches.
Jim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pump is fending him off so far but Jim persists. Nope, Pump circles away and we're back to standing.
Pump swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jim will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vinny Pump is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pump ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jim moves away.
Jim has his takedown stuffed
and Pump counters with a one-two to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pump pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jim fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pump avoids it really well and circles away.

Jim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Jim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pump is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jim, into his guard.

Jim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pump doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pump manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pump wants to get up but he can't break Jim's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pump wants to stand and escape but instead Jim has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jim won't allow Pump to get back to his feet.

Jim gets to his feet - Pump follows without any prompting.

Jim closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pump's guard.

Pump throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Jim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jim stands and throws Pump's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jim tries for a kimura but Pump is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jim is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pump knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pump knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jim on the ground.
Pump gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vinny Pump dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pump swivels and escapes.
Jim shoots in but no luck this time.
Pump throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jim counters with a single leg into guard. Pump didn't expect that.
Jim stops Pump from standing up.

Jim has gone for a leg lock! Pump slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jim's guard.

Jim working for a triangle but Pump defends it easily.
Pump tries to stand but Jim is controlling from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pump wants to pass the guard but Jim is keeping the position.

Jim looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Pump gets to his feet. Jim looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jim shoots in looking for a takedown but Pump manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jim's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vinny Pump has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slim Jim.
Pump cracks Jim with an open hand slap.
Pump lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jim circles away quickly and effectively.

Jim looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Pump looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jim passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pump looking for submissions off his back.

Jim is working for a kimura but Pump is defending it quite comfortably.

Pump actively working from the bottom here.

Jim seems to be looking for submissions.

Jim is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pump has managed to free his arm - good work.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jim is looking for a kimura but Pump is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jim to get the leverage.
Pump is trying to stand back up but Jim is controlling him

Jim is trying to work for a kimura but Pump is defending well.

Jim is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Pump is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
