Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheikh Hasina Wazed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez comes into the arena with Apeman blaring out of the sound system. Wazed has chosen Mercedes Sosa - Como la Cigarra as his entrance music. Alberto Lopez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sheikh Hasina Wazed's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alberto Lopez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sheikh Hasina Wazed!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lopez looks for the body kick but Wazed saw that one coming.
Lopez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed right hand from Wazed misses the target.
Wazed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lopez as he avoids it easily.
Lopez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wazed changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lopez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lopez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Wazed is thwarting Lopez's attempts to control the position.
Wazed trying to pass the guard but Lopez defending well.
Wazed seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lopez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wazed is taking a breather. Lopez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lopez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wazed's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wazed's back!

Wazed controlling his opponent's hands, preventing the submission attempt.

Wazed turns into Lopez and is now in his guard.
Wazedis looking to pass into half guard but Lopez pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lopez is in guard.
Wazed is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lopez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wazed is trying to keep Lopez in close.
Lopez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wazed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wazed's head.
Lopez passes Wazed's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lopez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wazed keeps working.

Wazed gets full guard.
Lopez trying to control the position from guard on top but Wazed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lopez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lopez wants to control from the top but Wazed keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wazed avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alberto Lopez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wazed scores with a nice head shot.
Wazed shoots in and bounces Lopez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lopez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Wazed throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Wazed wants to pass to mount but Lopez is defending the position.
Wazed is looking for a kimura but Lopez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wazed to get the leverage.

Lopez tries to roll over but Wazed keeps him under control.
Lopez is refusing to be controlled, as Wazed sits in half guard.

Wazed wants to pass the guard but Lopez is defending well.

Lopez holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wazed shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lopez sprawls well. Lopez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wazed gets slowly back to his feet.
Wazed misses with a wild combination.
Wazed has a takedown stuffed.
Lopez scores with a decent looking hook.
Lopez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wazed.
Wazed is rocked!

Wazed takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Wazed is still on wobbly legs! Can Lopez finish him?
Wazed is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lopez goes for a small jab and connects. Now Lopez goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Wazed stumbles back but Lopez runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Wazed to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Wazed will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alberto Lopez!
