Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Guy Downs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn has chosen BJ Penn as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Penn leaves Downs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Downs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Penn tries to avoid it but Downs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Penn to the ground. Penn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Downs is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Penn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Penn shrugs it off.
Downs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Penn looks a forlorn figure.
Penn is squirming around, avoiding Downs's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Downs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Penn manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Downs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penn pulls his head out easily.
Guy Downs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Penn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Downs defend it? Penn steps over the head and cranks it - Downs is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Penn!
