PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keenan Lazzar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keenan Lazzar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong throws a jab when Lazzar was well out of range.

Armstrong takes the fight into the clinch.
Armstrong is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Lazzar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Armstrong's guard.

Lazzar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Armstrong is in all sorts of trouble here.

Lazzar has hold of Armstrong's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Armstrong manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Armstrong has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Armstrong looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Lazzar has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Armstrong! Can he survive? No! He's out! Lazzar gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
