Gomez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Papillia avoids it really well and circles away.
Gomez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Gomez is rocked!
It looks like Francisco Gomez has been cut.
Papillia scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Gomez takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A nice combination there by Papillia.
Oh Gomez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown but Papillia manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gomez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Papillia lands a left and a right that send Gomez crashing to the mat, dazed. Papillia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francisco Gomez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Papillia sprawls well. Papillia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
Papillia connects with a stiff jab that staggers Gomez - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
