The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zavalza shoots in looking for a takedown. Burkina tries to sprawl out of it but Zavalza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burkina manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Burkina tries to clinch up.
Jose Zavalza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zavalza tries for a takedown but Burkina sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Zavalza throws a head kick that misses.
Zavalza ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burkina moves away.

Burkina rushes Zavalza and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Burkina goes for a takedown attempt but Zavalza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Zavalza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zavalza wants it to stay on the feet.

Zavalza is looking to sinch up a triangle. Burkina throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Zavalza's body to avoid the submission. Zavalza has instead reached around Burkina's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Zavalza arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
