The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chinalot keeps the fight on the outside.
Ballantyne throws a sloppy head kick and Chinalot moves out of range easily.
Ballantyne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chinalot wants to slow Ballantyne down by chopping away at his legs.
Ballantyne throws a chopping leg kick but Chinalot manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chinalot lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ballantyne has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ballantyne and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Chinalot fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ballantyne has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That kick from Ballantyne tenderised Chinalot's leg. Chinalot is trying to keep his angry face on.
Ballantyne takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Garrick Ballantyne seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Chinalot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ballantyne's waist but Ballantyne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chinalot off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ballantyne does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Chinalot takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
