Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barbara Boxer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Wilson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boxer misses with a body shot.
Boxer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wilson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Wilson throws out a loose jab but Boxer uses good head movement to avoid it. Boxer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wilson is out of range. Boxer tries to close the distance and clinch but Wilson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A solid body kick from Boxer. Jab by Boxer. Boxer connects with a leg kick. Wilson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Boxer lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Boxer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Boxer blocks a jab. Boxer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boxer throws a head kick that half lands.
Boxer just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Wilson with that takedown attempt. Boxer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wilson. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Boxer lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wilson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wilson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Boxer misses with a straight right. Wilson misses with a double jab
and Boxer counters with a low kick, right behind Wilson 's knee.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Wilson misses. Nice straight punches there by Boxer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Boxer. Wilson keeps the fight on the outside. Boxer throws a body kick that misses. Wilson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Boxer's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Boxer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson looking to pass the guard. Wilson preventing the sweep. Boxer keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully. Boxer looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barbara Boxer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wilson throws a big shot that misses. Boxer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wilson. A solid leg kick lands there for Boxer.
Boxer ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Wilson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Boxer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Boxer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxer throws an off balance right hand
and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Boxer trying to control from the bottom.
Boxer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Boxer pushes Wilson off looking to stand but Wilson dives back in and keeps control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Barbara Boxer. Boxer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boxer lands a slapping body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Boxer misses with a few strikes there.
Barbara Boxer is winning the standup battle so far. Boxer lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice body punch from Boxer. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Boxer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Wilson looks for a takedown but Boxer sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Boxer. Boxer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wilson's calf. Boxer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Wilson throws a head kick but Boxer moves out of range.
Wilson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boxer manages to avoid it. Barbara Boxer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boxer throws a body kick that misses. Boxer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Wilson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Boxer. Boxer throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wilson. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boxer moves out of range as Wilson strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barbara Boxer dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Wilson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wilson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Boxer is out of range and Wilson settles back down. Boxer tries to clinch but Wilson is having none of it. Boxer throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Boxer throws a jab when Wilson was well out of range. Boxer throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boxer lands a front kick. Boxer digs a good body shot into Wilson's ribs. Wilson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boxer.
The fighters circling - Wilson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Boxer misses with a hook. Wilson ducked under it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Boxer. Boxer looks to score with a jab to the body but Wilson is just out of range. Wilson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Boxer throws out the jab. Boxer throws a series of strikes that have Wilson backpedaling.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Boxer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Boxer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Boxer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wilson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A nice inside leg kick there by Boxer. That's going to slow Wilson down. Boxer lands a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boxer misses with a low kick.
David Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wilson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Boxer throws a series of strikes that have Wilson backpedaling.
It looks like David Wilson has been cut. Wilson lands with a hook. Boxer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Barbara Boxer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boxer lands an overhand right. Nice body punch from Boxer.
And that's the end of the fight! Barbara Boxer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boxer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
