The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMinn has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Roberts.
Patrick McMinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roberts pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McMinn looks to score with a jab to the body but Roberts is just out of range.
McMinn throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Roberts cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Patrick McMinn has been cut.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McMinn.
McMinn just misses with a punch to the body.
Roberts misses with a body shot
and McMinn makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Roberts really felt that one!
McMinn thows a leg kick but Roberts checks it
and Roberts counters with a leg kick.
McMinn looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McMinn avoids the body shot from Roberts.
McMinn scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Roberts misses with a head kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Roberts.
McMinn takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McMinn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Roberts can pounce on him.
Roberts tries to clinch up but McMinn circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Roberts connects with a right hand. McMinn shakes it off.
