Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicolai Riffel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Smelly Fingers!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riffel misses with a takedown attempt

and Fingers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fingers is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Riffel tries to get to full guard but Fingers has control of the leg.
Fingers is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fingers is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Fingers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Fingers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riffel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Smelly Fingers wasn't active enough on the ground.
Riffel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fingers counters with a shoot takedown. Riffel fights it but they end up in guard.
Riffel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fingers controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Riffel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fingers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fingers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Riffel is letting Fingers control him for a moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Smelly Fingers hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Fingers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Riffel is staying active underneath Fingers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fingers in particular looking to stall.
Riffel moves into full guard.
Fingers stays in close to Riffel's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Smelly Fingers hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Riffel darts in trying to clinch

and Fingers counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Riffel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fingers slows the pace down in half guard.
Let's hope that Fingers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
