The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Story misses with a takedown attempt
so Azell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Story not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Story keeping moving, preventing Azell from controlling successfully.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Story can do anything to dispel that myth.
Azell advances to half guard.
Azell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Story knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

and Azell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Story won't be happy with that.

Azell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Story is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Azell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Story manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

JJ Story's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Azell has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Story defend it? Azell steps over the head and cranks it - Story is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Azell!
