Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ellison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Koscheck! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koscheck drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Koscheck decides to stand back up. Koscheck steps back and let's Ellison get back to his feet. Ellison fails with an attempt to clinch.
Koscheck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ellison is looking to clinch. Ellison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Koscheck swivels and escapes. Ellison tries for a takedown but Koscheck circles away easily and Koscheck moves into the clinch. Ellison tries to score a body lock takedown but Koscheck shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Ellison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellison misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ellison is fighting off a takedown attempt but Koscheck is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ellison to the mat. Ellison regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ellison is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellison is looking to stand up but Koscheck isn't so interested in that idea. Koscheck controlling from the top position. Koscheck wants to pass the guard but Ellison is keeping the position. Koscheck stays in close to Ellison's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Koscheck hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ellison tries to clinch up. Koscheck shoots in for a takedown but Ellison shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ellison tries to clinch up. Koscheck changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ellison tries to avoid it but Koscheck manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ellison to the ground. Ellison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Koscheck shoots in looking for a takedown. Ellison tries to sprawl out of it but Koscheck keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ellison manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ellison throws a nice looking combination but Koscheck bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ellison moves out of range of the leg kick from Koscheck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellison tries to clinch but Koscheck moves away and Koscheck decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ellison's guard. Ellison keeping full guard, as Koscheck tries to pass. Ellison looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ellison is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koscheck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Koscheck content to stall in guard here. Ellison looking for a guillotine here but Koscheck defends easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ellison looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koscheck is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Koscheck. Ellison is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Koscheck circles away from the clinch attempt and Koscheck counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koscheck is defended easily by Ellison.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koscheck tries for a takedown but Ellison sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Anthony Ellison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ellison throws a right and a left that both miss. Koscheck is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ellison sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ellison defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Koscheck. Koscheck tries to keep at a distance but Ellison has taken the fight into the clinch. Koscheck changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ellison fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ellison shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Koscheck pinned against the cage. Koscheck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ellison fails in his attempt to clinch. Koscheck misses with a leg kick and Ellison counters with a good, hard body kick but Koscheck shrugs it off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Koscheck fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ellison shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koscheck as he jumps to the side. Koscheck misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Ellison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Koscheck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ellison is keeping the position for now. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ellison looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Koscheck passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellison pushes Koscheck away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Koscheck gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Koscheck passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ellison! Ellison tries to buck Koscheck off but he can't manage it. Koscheck content just to control the position here. Ellison sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellison punching from the bottom.
Koscheck is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Koscheck was stalling too much, according to the referee. Koscheck takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Ellison showed his dominance in that final round. I think Koscheck has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
