PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raoul Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Snatch Dat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duke's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, All Along The Watchtower. Dat has chosen Bring The Pain as his entrance music. Raoul Duke had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Raoul Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Snatch Dat!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dat lands a lovely overhand right.
Duke looks to score with a jab to the body but Dat is just out of range.
A left and a right from Dat both land. Nice combination.

Oooooh!!! Duke has knocked Dat down with a huge combo! Duke steps away and waves a wobbly Dat back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Snatch Dat has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Duke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dat moves away.
Duke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dat.
Duke throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dat counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duke tries to avoid it but Dat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duke to the ground. Duke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dat fails with a takedown attempt.
Raoul Duke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Snatch Dat.
Duke throws a lazy right hand but Dat sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snatch Dat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dat avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dat looks to land a body kick but Duke moved away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Duke misses with a series of wild punches.
Dat is looking to clinch but Duke is avoiding it.
Duke blocks a jab.
Duke has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dat finds it's way round the side to connect with Duke's head.
Duke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dat misses with the combination.
Dat slips a jab and a cross from Duke.

Dat drives through with a takedown into Duke's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dat preventing the sweep.
Duke is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Duke throwing shots but Dat is blocking nicely.
Duke slows the pace down in half guard.
Duke working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Dat's thigh. Dat counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Dat looking for a guillotine here but Duke defends easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Duke with a nice head shot there.

Dat keeping full guard, as Duke tries to pass.
Duke slips nicely into half guard.

Duke seems to be looking for submissions.

Dat actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duke trying to pass the guard but Dat defending well.
Duke is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Duke breaks from Dat's wrist control and lands an elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Duke tries to control but Dat wriggling away.
Duke takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raoul Duke dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Snatch Dat's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Duke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Duke tries to work over Dat's front leg with a kick but Dat checks it.
Dat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duke.
Duke scores with a leg kick.
Duke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Duke fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dat.
Duke avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Duke keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dat.
Duke misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duke tries to bum rush Dat with a series of wild strikes but Dat uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A big right from Duke misses.
Dat tries to land a front kick but Duke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Duke scores with a decent looking hook.
Dat fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dat lands a glancing blow to the side of Duke's head.
Raoul Duke is winning the standup battle so far.
An inside leg kick from Dat misses.
Dat throws a lazy right hand but Duke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dat swings away with a body shot that misses

and Duke counters with a crisp one two that drops Dat! Duke thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dat to his feet! Dat is in big trouble!


Dat is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duke keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dat.
Dat is still on wobbly legs! Can Duke finish him?
Dat keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dat tries a head kick but it misses.
Dat seems to have recovered his senses.
Duke misses with a few strikes there.
Duke tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Duke looks to land a combination but Dat avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duke throws a right and a left that both miss.
Raoul Duke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sloppy strikes from Duke. Those never looked like landing.
Dat digs a good body shot into Duke's ribs.
Duke dips to his left and cracks Dat with an uppercut!
Dat catches Duke with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Dat misses with a hook.
The fighters circling - Dat throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A leg kick checked by Dat.
Duke moves away from the strike by Dat.
Dat lands a jab-cross combination.
No joy there for Dat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dat fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Duke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Dat throws a head kick but Duke moves out of range.
Dat waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Duke.
Duke slips under a jab.
Duke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dat.
Dat scores with a jab. Duke acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Duke wants to land a leg kick but Dat is out of range.
Duke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Duke lands a body shot.
Dat is breathing heavily.
Duke throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dat counters with a leg kick.
Duke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Duke - that will leave a mark!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Duke drops Dat with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dat looks back up at him and smiles so Duke waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Duke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dat moves away.
Duke drops Dat with a huge uppercut! Dat drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Duke is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raoul Duke!
