Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patryk Zalus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruatfela Mizo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruatfela Mizo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mizo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zalus pinned against the cage. Zalus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Mizo.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Mizo obliges.
Zalus is pressed up against the cage. Mizo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Zalus down to the mat. Zalus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mizo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zalus as he jumps to the side.
Mizo throws a nice looking combination but Zalus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mizo dives in and grabs Zalus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zalus pushes down on Mizo's head and hops out.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Zalus. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Mizo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zalus's waist but Zalus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mizo off to one side.

Zalus creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Zalus wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mizo is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Zalus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mizo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Mizo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Mizo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Zalus shoots in but no luck this time.

Mizo has closed the distance and engaged Zalus in a clinch.
Zalus tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mizo moves into range and clinches up with Zalus.

Mizo looking to sit in guard and control but Zalus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Zalus trying to control the position from guard on top but Mizo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mizo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Zalus wants to sweep but Mizo has passed to side control!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zalus on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Zalus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mizo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mizo decides to stand back up. Mizo steps back and let's Zalus get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zalus shoots in looking for a takedown. Mizo tries to sprawl out of it but Zalus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mizo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mizo jumps guard but Zalus stands there with Mizo around his waist. Mizo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Zalus seems a little lost for a moment, as Mizo dominates the positioning.
Mizo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Zalus is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Mizo is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Zalus's shoulder. That is not cool.

A lull in the action here as Mizo stalls from top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mizo is looking to take a break and control but Zalus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ruatfela Mizo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Mizo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
