These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Pierce blocks a jab.
Morales throws a hook but Pierce blocks it.
Morales lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Good shot there by Pierce.

It looks like Sergio Morales has been cut.
Morales uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pierce.
Pierce fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pierce tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morales was well out of range. Poor timing from Pierce.
Pierce takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Morales takes a swing at Pierce's ribcage but misses.
A right-left combo lands from Pierce.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morales misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pierce.

Koufax Pierce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pierce thows a body shot but no joy.
Pierce fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pierce lands with a nice body punch.
Pierce scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Pierce dips to his left and cracks Morales with an uppercut!

Pierce lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Morales is rocked!
Pierce fails to land with a series of punches.
Oh Morales is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morales throws an off balance right hand
and Pierce counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Morales has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
