Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fredrick Wulfsburgh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charon Hawkins! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wulfsburgh drops Hawkins with a beautiful combination! Hawkins stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wulfsburgh is looking for the KO!
It looks like Charon Hawkins has been cut. Hawkins looks to clinch and Wulfsburgh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wulfsburgh keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wulfsburgh misses with a body shot.
Wulfsburgh bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hawkins's head backwards. Hawkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wulfsburgh trying to control the position but instead, Hawkins has worked for underhooks and has pushed Wulfsburgh into the cage. Wulfsburgh throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hawkins blocks it with crossed arms. Wulfsburgh is trying to break the clinch but Hawkins has him pressed against the cage. Hawkins avoiding damage as Wulfsburgh throws knees to the body.
Wulfsburgh is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hawkins is defending well for now. Wulfsburgh misses with a short punch on the inside. Wulfsburgh with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Wulfsburgh tries to land a knee to the head but Hawkins blocks with his arms.
Wulfsburgh tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hawkins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawkins closes the distance and clinches. Hawkins lands a damaging elbow. Wulfsburgh is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Hawkins manages to pull guard.
Wulfsburgh is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hawkins has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wulfsburgh is looking to defend but Hawkins has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wulfsburgh! Hawkins pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wulfsburgh taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Charon Hawkins!
