PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Amidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cullen Castrello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castrello has chosen Jag - I'm A Boss as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cullen Castrello!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castrello wants to clinch up but Amidal keeps it at a distance.
The fighters circle momentarily. Amidal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Castrello shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Amidal sprawls well. Amidal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castrello gets slowly back to his feet.
Castrello doesn't manage to clinch there - Amidal circles away.
Amidal takes a swing at Castrello's ribcage but misses.
Amidal misses with a body kick.
Castrello gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Castrello wants to clinch.
Amidal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Amidal wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Castrello tries to clinch there but Amidal circles away.
Castrello shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Amidal sprawls well. Amidal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castrello gets slowly back to his feet.

Castrello avoids a punch combination nicely.
Amidal thows a body shot but no joy.
Castrello closes this distance looking for a takedown but Amidal circles away.
Joey Amidal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cullen Castrello.

Amidal throws a series of punches but Castrello moves out of range.

Castrello slips a jab and a cross from Amidal.

and Castrello counters with a slapping leg kick.
Amidal throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Amidal is breathing heavily.
Castrello throws a leg kick which misses Amidal's front leg but catches the back leg as Amidal tries to avoid it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Amidal throws a nice looking combination but Castrello bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Amidal lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Amidal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Castrello has time to react.
Castrello shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Amidal swats away the attempt to clinch by Castrello.
Castrello tries to close the distance and clinch up but Amidal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Castrello is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Amidal.

Castrello jumps into guard, dragging Amidal to the mat.

Castrello bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Amidal's guard.
Castrello lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Castrello advances to half guard.
Amidal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Amidal tries to get out of the position.

Castrello seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Amidal is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
