Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Komuto Poebalunaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopkins comes to the cage accompanied by Testament- Return To Serenity. Poebalunaka comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Morbid Angel - Rapture kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Poebalunaka.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hopkins darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Poebalunaka misses with a takedown attempt - Hopkins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Poebalunaka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hopkins is trying to defend but Poebalunaka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Hopkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Poebalunaka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Poebalunaka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hopkins leaves Poebalunaka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ben Hopkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Komuto Poebalunaka.

Poebalunaka looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hopkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Poebalunaka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hopkins throws out a loose jab but Poebalunaka uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hopkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hopkins wants it to stay on the feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Poebalunaka cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hopkins is rocked!
Poebalunaka lands a big shot to the head and Hopkins winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
