Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Tachibana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mai Ghoul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghoul's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tachibana connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ghoul scrambles back to his feet.
Ghoul shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tachibana as he jumps to the side.
Tachibana lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tachibana swings for the body but Ghoul moves out of range.
Tachibana closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ghoul tried to score with a low kick but Tachibana checks it.
Tachibana throws a shot to the body.
Tachibana fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ghoul pushes Tachibana up against the cage in a clinch.

Ghoul's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ghoul breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That kick from Tachibana tenderised Ghoul's leg. Ghoul is trying to keep his angry face on.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Ghoul is keen to just control but Tachibana is a slippery customer.

Mai Ghoul dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tachibana throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tachibana lands a really nice looking cross but Ghoul seems unphased.
Ghoul takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Ghoul closes the distance and clinches up with Tachibana, looking for a takedown. Ghoul pushes Tachibana against the cage but Tachibana circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tachibana fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ghoul.
Tachibana lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Horrible takedown by Ghoul or perhaps it was just good defense by Tachibana which made him look bad.

Tachibana gets caught napping as Ghoul dives in and scores a takedown. Tachibana manages to retain guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ghoul on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Ghoul closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
